Do I need cell phone spyware?

When you’re considering the safety of your family, a better question may be simply, can I stand the risk of not having cell phone spyware.

Let’s face it, the world is full of dangers, and when your son or daughter is out there on their own, their cell phone is often the only direct link you would have to them in an emergency. And for teenagers, the world is also full of temptations, the kind you have to face every day. Your children are out there faced with all the same risks, the same temptations, and the same choices you had to make at their age, plus a lot of new ones that didn’t even exist twenty years ago. Will they always choose well? Did you? Is that a risk you’re prepared to take?

Our children are more connected, more social, and more exposed than ever before. When you give your fourteen-year-old a smart phone with a data plan, they have much more than a convenient means to call you when they’re ready to be picked up from basketball practice... they have a powerful, handheld computer that can connect them to information and people from across the world.
And in most ways, this is a great thing. Researching a paper for school doesn’t require an afternoon at the library anymore. A student has the ability to find and cite references from just about anywhere. The conflicts between sports and academics isn’t as acute if your little athlete can work on their term paper while riding the bus to their away game.

But of course all this technology also comes with risks. Have you ever wondered what your son or daughter sees on the websites he or she visits? Do you know who his or her friends are and what they talk about? Do you ever wonder what’s in the endless stream of text messages that flow into and out of your son or daughter’s cell phones?

With a spy phone app like highster mobile, you can reconstruct the traffic that comes across your kid’s mobile phone, to see what kinds of influences are shaping his or her minds. Are they reading activist websites? Are they consuming material best left to adults? Are they receiving hateful emails or harassing text messages… or maybe even sending them?

Kids will do kid things. They will make mistakes, they will cause trouble, and they will get into trouble; these are just facts. But they don’t usually get in trouble alone. Kids doing kid things is often a group activity, and kids love to talk about causing trouble almost as much as they like the trouble itself.

In case after case, when kids go astray, there’s a common theme;  secrecy. Kids getting into trouble seldom do so alone. And with your child’s entire network of friends connected on social media and by email, text and phone, chances are that their mobile devices hold some record of everything they’re doing, including any bad stuff.

So if your teen or tween goes out and gets themselves into a bad situation, wouldn’t it be nice to know how it all came about? Wouldn’t it be nice to know if your little angel was an unknowing bystander, a willing accomplice, or even the mastermind of some nefarious plot?

Having a ready record of their cell phone traffic could help you understand what influences led your child into a bad situation. And if you understand what’s led them astray, you can direct them to better influences and away from bad ones. And isn’t that what good parenting is all about?
